The Nook

Home History Location Gallery

The Nook is situated in the heart of Liverpool's Chinatown, just along from the impressive arch, which is the largest outside of China.

Liverpool's Chinese arch - the largest oustside of China!
Many aspects are unique to the Nook - for many years "last orders" was called out in Chinese!

We asked him what he thought of the project.

Perry with his memorabilia Perry Lee was kind enough to give a talk about his experiences filming "The Inn of the Sixth Happiness" with Ingrid Bergman in Wales.

Click to hear audio.

Amongst the movie memorabilia he brought along, were shooting scripts from 20th century fox, pictures from the filming and newspaper articles from the Echo.

Click the thumbnails below for enlargements.

Article from the Echo Not quite the official movie poster- Perrys name has replaced Curt Jurgens as the star! 20th Century fox letter

Doreen

Doreen
Doreen Jones (formerly Hill) from Errol Street in the Dingle originally. She's shown here in the late 1940's doing ballet dancing in the rooms above Corrinses pub. This is her now in the Nook. Corrinses was the local name for the Toxteth pub, on park road - and coincidentally is now Dingle Online - were you can drop in any time and learn some ICT skills!

Doreens husband Henry now comes to Dingle Online and brought these pictures along to show us.

Click to hear Henry.
